COLLECTION INSPIRATION.

An exploration inspired by notions of rigidity and three dimensional volume, angular silhouettes are challenged by translucency, texture and unusual fabrication; Directly influenced by The Japanese Designers, origami, surgical garments, and the natural growth of crystal formations, the collection is a modern take on classic sophistication.

THE ILLUSION OF THE 1950'S AMERICAN DREAM.

COLLECTION INSPIRATION.

Inspired by the illusion of the 1950's American Dream, juxtaposing a perfect suburban lifestyle and the large corporations that were starting to emerge to fuel this fabricated way of life. The design process started by exploring both worlds: the housewife of the 1950's and the corporate business man. Vintage photographs, magazine advertisements, along with traditional menswear were thoroughly researched and dissected. The photographs collected were superimposed onto one another and created the digital prints used throughout the entire collection. 

All of the prints are derived from images representing industrialization and mass production.

By distorting these industrial images into beautiful prints, the 1950's American Dream, when idealized suburban domesticity concealed the huge industrial corporations, became the underlying theme of the collection.

All of the digital prints. The double layered print organdy blouse which has a very three dimensional quality. Also similar is the cropped blouse with organdy layered on brocade.

FABRICS USED.

Swiss Organdy, Silk Wool Brocades, Custom Double Knit Jacquards, Silk Wools, Cotton Sateen fused to Double Faced Wool Crepe. Latex gloves, and latex menswear sock garters.

Trench coat, double layered raglan sleeve blouse, cropped oversize collar blouse, knit pencil skirt, knit sweater, bullet bra, bullet bra corset, high waisted cigarette trousers, cropped jacket, sheer organdy skirt, silk wool brocade tea dress, double knit jacquard knickers.
